This BMW dealership built in 1997 had no MOT facilities and contracted all their MOT’s to local stations which required extra vehicles and BMW staff whilst transporting the car to and from the dealership.
From initial discussions with the Dick Lovett Group, the perception was to transform their existing car wash and valet building into an MOT station.
Square One Construction presented a different scheme offering an extension to the car wash building for a two bay MOT facility.
Through further design discussions, the dealership recognised the need for Smart Repair Facilities and the revised scheme submitted to planning was for a two bay MOT and four bay Smart repair building.
Swindon Borough Council looked favourably on a scheme which ultimately reduced the traffic flow significantly from the dealership to other local stations.
From the original brief in early October 2010, Square One Construction handled the design process and planning submission. The 250k facility opened on 4 April 2011.
“I have now worked with Tim and his team on several occasions and on some major projects including the build of an all new dealership whilst working from the same site. Our requirement for a relatively simple MOT and SMART repair facility was handled without the need for much external input as Tim and I came up with a design and Square One Construction built it with the minimum of fuss and disruption. This met our needs perfectly and very cost effectively. To date it has been a great success with little or no issue to speak of.”
